A broadcast major and music minor, Christiann Adams began a successful broadcasting career on-the-air hosting a "Top 30 Jazz Album Countdown" show on jazz NPR affiliate WSIE-FM in the St. Louis market before working behind-the-scenes in New York and Los Angeles. On short notice CBS trusted Christiann to engineer the live national radio broadcast of the Super Bowl. While working on CBS's "The Gil Gross Show," Christiann engineered a wide variety of interviews from political figures Hillary Clinton and John McCain to music icons Dave Brubeck and Melissa Etheridge. While in Los Angeles, she worked as associate producer on the #1 national radio talk show that broadcast on Premiere Radio Networks. Christiann has returned to the airwaves of WSIE-FM The Sound where she started her broadcasting career. She brings jazz-smooth jazz-blues and easy R&B every Monday, Wednesday and Friday evening 7pm-midnight.
Christiann studied acting and voice in New York at HB Studio. The vocalist studied musical theatre & voice with Bob Garrett and sightsinging with Stan Farber and Gerald White in Los Angeles. She has appeared in film, television, commercials (Mercedes Benz, Audi, Tire Kingdom) and commercial print ads (Discover Card, MCI, IBM) in New York and Los Angeles.
The musical influence of Barry Manilow and his collaborators played a pivotal part in Christiann being a singer/songwriter. "They taught me song structure; they taught me that a chorus should lift. These were songwriting elements that instinctively came naturally to me when I began writing because I'd absorbed those lessons by osmosis from the age of nine listening to Barry's catalog." A lyric-writing class at UCLA taught by Manilow co-writer Marty Panzer was the catalyst for her songwriter self to emerge. One year later she had a song contract with a publisher. She was also blessed to get to study with number-one country songwriter Steve "Grown Men Don't Cry" Seskin and Berklee College of Music lyric-writing professor Pat Pattison (the fulfillment of her dream to attend Berklee).
Christiann is a three-time Best Song winner and a three-time Best Performance winner at the West Coast Songwriters Hollywood Showcase. "Brilliant vocals and signature flair" was the description written of her Songsalive! Showcase set.
Christiann has received jazz dance training at The Edge Performing Arts Center in Los Angeles. She practices yoga regularly. Christiann is a member of SAG-AFTRA and BMI.
